The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC said it’s operatives in Benin Zonal Command have arrested seventeen suspected internet fraudsters in Benin, the Edo State capital.
In a statement released by the commission, the anti-graft agency said the suspects were arrested at their hideouts following actionable intelligence received by the commission.
The suspects were identified as Arebu Julius, Ebiechuwa Victory Ovie, John Uwague, Edward Asuelimhen, Onyeka Sunday, Omorefe Osazee, Kelvin Emmanuel, Osamuliamen Maxwell, Osrmudiamen Aganjele, Godday Osaretin and Osayande Osariemen.
Others are Destiny Enobokhare, Daniel Collins, Collins Edobor, Chukwuemeka Johnson, Omofuma Godpower and Progress Edoagu.
According to the statement,”Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include phones and laptops and seven vehicles of different brands.
“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
The EFCC has been on an offensive against fraudsters across the country.
It’s zonal offices in the country have been out to arrest suspects.
