Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Thursday bursted a cybercrime training centre in the Edo state capital city, arresting 25 suspected internet fraudsters.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on the Commission’s official X handle on Friday.
According to the statement, the suspects were arrested at their hideout following credible intelligence that indicated the apartment being used as a yahoo academy or training school for internet-related fraud and other fraudulent activities.
Items recovered from the suspects include six exotic cars, laptops and phones.
The Commission stated that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
