The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained 10 of its officers over alleged theft of missing items in Lagos.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on the anti-graft agency’s official X handle on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the erring officers are attached to the Commission’s Lagos Zonal Command.
They were arrested last week through the directive of the EFCC boss, Ola Olukoyede, and are currently under interrogation over the undisclosed missing items.
EFCC vowed to take disciplinary actions against the erring officers following the conclusion of the investigation.
The statement read in part; “In its continuing efforts to sweep the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, clean of corrupt tendencies, 10 officers of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, are being detained over investigation of some missing items involving them.
“The officers, who were arrested last week on the directives of the Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede are answering questions related to the theft of some operational items that they could not account for.
“Investigators are making good progress and those found culpable will be subjected to internal disciplinary processes.”
