No fewer than 35 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in separate operations in Abia and Kano states.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the anti-graft agency.
According to the statement, EFCC operatives attached to the Uyo Zonal Directorate apprehended 30 of the suspected internet fraudsters at Ariam and Ubakala in Abia State during an intelligence-driven sting operation yesterday.
Items recovered from them include four cars, one iPad, three laptop computers, one sound system, forty two phones and one external hard drive.

In similar version, the commission’s operatives attached to the Kano Zonal Directorate equally arrested the five other suspected cyber criminals in Kano.
The suspects were apprehended on Tuesday during a sting operation at Farm Centre, Kano following actionable intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud and related financial crimes.
The suspects were arrested alongside their mobile phones.
The EFCC vowed to arraigned all the suspects in court upon conclusion of investigations.
