The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has nabbed 42 suspected internet fraudsters in Yobe State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on the anti-graft agency’s official X handle on Thursday.
According to the statement, the suspects were arrested by the EFCC Operatives attached to its Maiduguri Zonal Directorate.
They were arrested in a sting operation on Independence Day at different locations within Gashua Local Government Area of Yobe state, following credible intelligence on their involvement in computer-related crimes.
Items recovered from them include seven motorcycles, one Mercedes Benz car, fifty-five (55) phones and laptops, as well as playstation 5 (PS5) and playstation 4 (PS4) consoles respectively.

Intelligence available to the Commission linked the suspects with various forms of internet-related fraud.
EFCC vowed to charge the suspects to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
