The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has nabbed 47 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City, Edo state capital.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on the commission’s official X handle on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended in different locations across Benin by the operatives of the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate.
Items recovered from the suspected fraudsters include five cars, smartphones, and laptops.
EFCC vowed to charge them to court following the conclusion of investigation.
The statement read; “Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 arrested 47 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Benin City, Edo State.
“The suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.
“Items recovered from them at the point of arrest included five exotic cars, smartphones and laptop computers.
“They would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
