At least 48 suspected internet fraudsters have been nabbed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with one pump rifle recovered during their arrest in Abeokuta, Ogun state’s capital.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on the anti-graft agency’s official X handle on Friday.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended by the EFCC operatives attached to the Ibadan Zonal Directorate.

They were bursted by the agency following surveillance and credible intelligence linking them to fraudulent internet activities.
The commission viewed to charge them to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
Meanwhile, other items items recovered from the suspects include five high-end cars, a motorbike, several mobile phones, laptop computers and incriminating documents.
The statement read in part; “Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 48 suspected internet fraudsters in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
“Their arrest followed surveillance and credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.
“Items recovered from them include a pump action rifle, five high-end cars, a motorbike, several mobile phones, laptop computers and incriminating documents.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
