The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has moved Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi who was arrested in Abuja over fraud to Lagos.
The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) 2023 election candidate for the Kogi State House of Assembly was nabbed in Abuja for alleged bank fraud amounting to N1.4bn.
EFCC Head of Media, Wilson Uwujaren gave the update in a statement on Wednesday saying that,the politician cum cyber-fraud suspect was flown to Lagos in the early hours of Wednesday in continuation of the investigation into the scam.
“He is billed to be interrogated by another team of operatives at the Lagos Command of the Commission,” the statement disclosed

Atumeyi alongside two other suspects,Joshua Dominic and Abdulmalik Salau Femi, a former bank employee were arrested by the anti-graft agency for allegedly hacking into the system of a commercial bank and defrauding the institution of over N1.4bn
A sum of N326million and $140,500 was recovered from Atumeyi during an operation at his hideout in Queen Estate,Gwarinpa,Abuja.
In Lagos, operatives of the EFCC found $470,000 in the possession of Abdulmalik.
