At least, eight commuters have been killed by an explosion which left 14 others injured along the Maiduguri-Damboa Road, Borno State.
The tragic incident, as diclosed in a post shared on X, reportedly happened on Saturday.
It occurred when a scheduled military-escorted convoy were transporting passengers from Damboa to Maiduguri on Saturday.
The Maiduguri-Damboa road has over the years, been the focal point of the suspected terrorists attack.
According to report, the road was initially closed to vehicles and commuters until the administration of Babagana Zulum opened the road for passengers to travel to Damboa, Chibok and other LGAs in southern Borno with the help of a military convoy serving as security cover for the commuters.
The injured victims of the incident have been conveyed to a hospital in Maiduguri for prompt medical attention.
