The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, has died at the age of 64.
This was disclosed by sources close to the judiciary on Tuesday.
According to reports, Justice Adeyeye passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at a tertiary hospital in Ekiti after brief illness.
Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East local government area of the state, Adeyeye was called to the bar in 1986 when he joined the legal profession.
He began his career as a state counsel in the old Ondo State civil service before moving to Ekiti in 1996, where he became part of the Judiciary Service Commission.
Elevated to the Ekiti State High Court bench in 2002, he went on to serve on multiple election petition tribunals over the years, bringing his expertise to the state judiciary.
