Says no Automatic Ticket for NASS, State Assembly Members
- Safiu Kehinde
Immediate past Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi, has declared his support for the second term agenda of his predecessor, Abiodun Oyebanji.
Fayemi made the declaration during his address at a recent political event held in the state.
As seen in a video shared on X on Thursday , the former governor urged the state to support Oyebanji’s re-election.
However, Fayemi also declared the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket for the next election open for interested candidates as he claimed being a democrat.
“Let’s support our son. If we support him, others will also join us. Don’t misquote me. I am a democrat. I have contested election twice. I don’t want any party member to start spreading the notion that we am have shut the door against other candidates. Whoever want to contest for the Primary Should should do so.” Fayemi said.
Meanwhile, the former Ekiti governor charged the lawmakers present at the event that there will be no automatic ticket for them.
