Embattled former Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has returned to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission’s (ICPC) custody following court’s adjournment of his bail application hearing.
El-Rufai, who had earlier appeared at the Federal High Court in Kaduna with an escort of ICPC officials, was promptly returned to commission’s custody as the court adjourned the hearing of the bail application till Wednesday.
The development had sparked outrage from members of the public as the ex-Kaduna governor was returned to custody barely two days after burying his mother.
They held that the commission supposed to allow El-Rufai spend more time with his family to mourn the death of his mother before being returned to custody.
Meanwhile, NPO Reported that the ICPC had only granted El-Rufai a brief leave on compassionate ground following the demise of his mother.
