New owner of micro-blogging App, Twitter, Elon Musk has said he is sure that elite media would make efforts to stop the growth of citizen journalism which Twitter under his new ownership tries to promote.
Musk who is also the owner of Tesla, has effected a number of changes since he bought over Twitter two weeks ago.
Musk wrote on Friday, “As Twitter pursues the goal of elevating citizen journalism, media elite will try everything to stop that from happening.” He stated
Musk said citizen reporting would not stop mainstream media from progressing adding that it would only force them to be me more accurate.
Musk tweeted, “Mainstream media will still thrive, but increased competition from citizens will cause them to be more accurate, as their oligopoly on information is disrupted.”

Musk has last week announced that Twitter verified users will now begin to pay monthly fee of $8.
This week, he has also announced that parody accounts would no longer be allowed except the word “parody” is included in their names and not in the bio.
He has promised more far reaching changes in the days ahead.
