New owner of micro-blogging App, Twitter, Mr. Elon Musk has shrugged at those criticising him over the $8 monthly fee to be paid by users whose accounts are verified.
The billionaire businessman had slammed the fee on verified users shortly after taking over the company. He has come under criticism for the decision. But in a short response on Saturday, Mr. Musk said, “Trash me all day, but it’ll cost $8.” Many users are likely to accuse the business of arrogance over his latest response.
The billionaire listed out the benefits of owning a paid verified handle as priority in replies, mentions and search which he said will help defeat spam/scam.
Musk also listed the other advantages such as the capacity to post long-duration videos and audios, paywall bypass for publishers among others.
“You will also get: – Priority in replies, mentions & search, which is essential to defeat spam/scam – Ability to post long video & audio – Half as many ads.
“And paywall bypass for publishers willing to work with us.” He tweeted.
