Nollywood actress, Oluwabukola Awoyemi, popularly known as Arugba, has cried out over the abduction of her cousins and aunt during the bandits’ attack on a church at her hometown, Eruku, Kwara state.
NPO Reported that the suspected bandits had on Tuesday evening stormed the Christ Apostolic Church Oke Isegun.
According to a survivor of the attack, the bandits killed three people with 35 others reportedly abducted.
Meanwhile the state Police Command had only confirmed two deaths with the Kwara First Lady, Olufolake Abdulrazaq allegedly describing it as an attempted attack.
Reacting in a post on her Instagram handle, Awoyemi debunked the police report.
The Nollywood actress maintained that the attack was a successful one with many people kidnapped including about three to four of her cousins and aunt.
“The information you got from the Kwara state Police is false. This has to do with my people. It was a successful attack, not an attempted attack.
“We all saw the video. They were streaming live while the church programme was going on when the bandits came in.
“A lot of people were abducted. I’m so much pained when I saw the release that it was an attempted attack and nothing happened to anyone, and some people are in the hospital right now.
“Three people are dead now. I’ve spoken to a lot of people from my town, my cousins and uncles. Presently, like three to four of my cousins are in the bandits’ den.
“They are there right now. Evangelist Titi Balogun, she is right there. She is my Mom’s younger sister. Ebenezer Aina, he is presently there. That is my cousin’s son. It was a successful attack. It wasn’t an attempted one.” She said.
The actress expressed her displeasure with false narratives as she urged the Kwara first lady to dismiss it.
“I’m so pained right now because this is not a happy video. If something like that happened and the direct opposite of what happened is what is being reported, it hurts me.
“Everybody is crying in my town now because we can’t find them.
“We don’t even know if they will be found dead or alive. It will be very painful seeing what I saw on your page Ma. Please Ma, that report is false. It totally contradicts what actually happened. Three people are dead right now.” She wrote.
