Etebo Sustains Injury in Goalless First Half of Super Eagles Versus Leone Stars

In the first half match of the Super Eagles versus Leone Stars on Tuesday, midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo was substituted after sustaining an injury  in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Siaka Stevens Stadium, Freetown.

This follows the match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin on Friday that ended with a draw after the Eagles relaxed with the four-goal lead in the first leg of the encounter.

Etebo was replaced by Shehu Abdullahi in the 36th minute of the match.

Both sides go into the halftime goalless after an eventful first half with Sierra Leone getting most of the chances.

Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye made a couple of saves to deny the Leone Stars from taking the lead.

Coach Gernot Rohr replaced left-back Zaidu Sanusi with Ola Aina, while Kelechi Iheanacho replaced injured Victor Osimhen.
