The European Union, on Wednesday, delivered a refurbished Arsenal to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ at the agency’s Abuja headquarter.
According to a statement released by EU on its official Twitter handle, the armoury was refurbished under EU-funded Organized Crime West African Response to Trafficking programme (OCWAR-T) to effectively secure storage of arms & ammunition.
The statement read in part;” The Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps on Wednesday took delivery of a refurbished armoury for secure storage of arms & ammunition, at its HQ, in Abuja, under the EU-funded Organized Crime West Africa Response to Trafficking programme (OCWAR-T).”
Prior to this development, the European Union had on Monday donated a sum of N75 million to Nigeria in the fight against the spread of diphtheria-a contagious infection that hinders breathing.
