More reactions have continued to trail Sunday’s bombing of scores of worshippers in a village in Kaduna state by the Nigerian Army.
Former Special Assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad has condemned the Army for its celebration of wins by its wrestling team at a time that the country is mourning victims of the bombing.
NPO Reports that villagers were bombed Sunday night in an air operation by the Nigerian Army. The Army, at a meeting with officials of the Kaduna state Government on Monday admitted the bombings were done in error.
The Defence Headquarters, in a post on its X handle on Monday had celebrated its wrestling team which it said broke a 50 year old record saying “Nigerian Military Wrestlers have broken a 50-year record by winning a Gold medal at the 36th World Military Wrestling Championship.”
The post had apparently angered Ahmad who said it was insensitive for the Army to celebrate any win at this time that its operatives just committed a tragic error, killing scores of innocent villagers during their Maulud celebration.

“You bombed hundreds of innocent people just last night in Kaduna. No single word was posted on this page to commiserate with victims and their families, but now you’re happily posting this nonsense, haba! So are you expecting us to join you in celebration or what? HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SIX WERE MURDERED.”
