A former Chairman of Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon Remi Abbass, has been killed in the mayhem that has engulfed the state on Monday over which party controls the local government areas in the state.
This is coming hours after the state governor Ademola Adeleke, raised alarm during a Press Conference on Sunday.
Adeleke had warned of possible violence in the state.
As captured in a now viral video on social, the E-local government chairman could be seen lying lifeless as residents expressed shock over his murder.
NPO Reported of an imminent violence on Sunday after former Governor Gboyega Oyetola directed the chairmen and councilors who had been allegedly reinstated to resume offices across the state.
Governor Ademola Adeleke had said Peoples Democratic Party members would resist such forceful takeover of the councils saying the court never made any consequential order for the chairmen who were sacked to be reinstated.
Amid the crisis the PDP’ s Chairmanship candidate for Ede South Local Government, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, could be seen, in a video shared on his X handle, addressing residents.
He assured the residents at the PDP is in charge of the state.
