Fidelis Soriwei, former Chief Press Secretary to ex-Bayelsa Governor, Seriake Dickson, has dared the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, to impeach Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
This was after Wike had remarked on Ijaw’s influence in the Niger Delta region.
NPO reported that Wike had at a media chat yesterday talked down the Ijaw’s threat against alleged plot to impeach Fubara amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers.
Wike had labelled the Ijaws as “the minority of the minority”, stressing that they had no influence across the Niger Delta.
Reacting in a post on his Facebook handle, Soriwei challenged Wike to effect Fubara’s impeachment to confirm if indeed the Ijaws can do nothing as he claimed.
“Dear FCT Minister, no need to cast aspersions on Ijaw people. Nigerians might think you are afraid. Just impeach Fubara since you already know nothing will happen.” Soriwei wrote.
Also reacting in a separate post on Facebook was former President of the Ijaw National Congress, Chris Ekiyor.
Describing Wike as “a big joke”, Ekiyor warned the FCT Minister against starting a crisis he will be unable to resolve.
“Wike is a big joke. Ijawnation is not Gov fubara. Do not start a fight u can’t finish wike.” He wrote.
