Ex-BBNaija Housemate, Natacha Akide, also known as Tacha, has confronted the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, for banning protest against police brutality in the state.
Tacha took to Twitter to explicitly register her displeasure with Wike's directive in a series of tweets.
At 10:55 pm on Monday, she had posted a plan for a protest to the Government House for 9 am Tuesday morning only to come across a statement by the governor banning any form of protest at the same 10:55 pm on Monday.
For the planned protest she tweeted: "PortHarcourt peaceful protest 9AM Tomorrow, we Peacefully March to Government House✊🏾 If you know sey you go cause trouble dey your house🗣️
March Routes: RUMUOLA>>GRA> WATERLINES>> GARRISON>>ISAAC BORO PARK>>GOV HOUSE>>HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY! See you✊🏾 RT!
In what seem like a response, Wike tweeted a statement banning protests: "The Rivers State Government hereby wish to inform the general public that all forms of protests have been banned throughout the State.
"Therefore, all proposed protests under #EndSars Campaign are hereby prohibited.
"Government took this decision because the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had already scrapped the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
"Therefore, there is no need for any form of protest against a Unit of the Police Force that no longer exists.
"Parents and Guardians are therefore advised to ensure that their children or wards do not violate this order.
"Law enforcement agencies are also directed to ensure that the ban is enforced and that violators are brought to book."
Irate Tacha in a series of tweets lampooned the governor: "With all Due respect your Excellency, you are a lawyer and I believe you know better, this is a democracy system and Rivers State belongs to all the Daughters and Sons of the state. It is our right to peacefully protest against police brutality✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾 #SarsMustGoNow #PhProtest

Also quoting and replying the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu's tweet in which he said "every citizen has a right to peaceful protest" Tacha said: "Every citizen has a right to peacefully protest✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾@GovWike @GovWike @GovWike #SarsMustGoNow #SARSMUSTEND"
