Ex-Eagle Defender, Yisa Sofoluwe is Dead
A former defender in the Nigerian senior National team Yisa Sofoluwe has died.
Sofoluwe died at the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital where has been on life support for days.
Sofoluwe, fondly called the “Defence Minister” in his hey days, played for many clubs among which was the Abiola Babes, Abeokuta.
He was said to have been diagnosed of cerebral atrophy.
Aged 53 at the time of his death, Sofoluwe was part of the Nigerian squad that got to the final of the 1984 and 1988 AFCON competition.
