Former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman. Attahiru Jega, has lost his wife, Hajiya Jega.
This was confirmed in a family statement issued on Sunday.
While the cause of her death was not disclosed, the family announced that her funeral prayer will be held after the Zuhr prayers at the National Mosque, Abuja.
The family prayed for the forgiveness of her sins and shortcomings.
“With total submission to the will of Allah, we announce the passing of the wife of Prof.Attahiru Jega.
“Her Janazah will be held immediately after Zuhr prayers at the National Mosque, Abuja on sunday, 5th April 2026.
“May Allah grant her Aljannatul Firdaus and forgive her shortcomings. May He also grant the family the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen.” The statement read.
