Says Party Has Lost Credibility

A former National Women Leader of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, Hafsat Mohammed Baba, has resigned from the All Progressive Congress.
Baba, who submitted her resignation letter through her ward in Kaduna reminded the National Chairman of the APC that she came into the party as then incumbent Women Leader of the now defunct ACN.
NPO Reports that ACN was one of the political parties that came together ahead of the 2015 general elections to form the now ruling APC.
Other parties that joined forces at the time was the Congress for Progressive Change, a Faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance and a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Baba’s resignation is coming hours after the publication declaration by former Governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir El-Rufai who dumped the APC for the Social Democratic Party.
Baba served in the administration of El-Rufai as its commissioner for Human Services.

In her letter of resignation, Baba stated that the party has lost focus adding that it has deviated from the principles of equality fairness and justice that it sold to Nigerians to seek their mandate.
She accused the ruling party of treating her with hatred and disdain over her support for El-Rufai.
“As you are no doubt aware, in spite of our modest effort in building a strong support base for the APC, the leadership of the party at the state level and the government we collectively bring to office have alienated me and my followers on account of our association with Mal. Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai.
“We tried all avenues to demonstrate our loyalty to the party, but at every opportunity, we were rebuked.
“With the hatred and disdain shown to us by the leadership of the party we worked hard to nurture, it has become compelling to seek another platform in our desire to bring development and prosperity to our dear people.” She wrote.
While declaring her membership withdrawal from the party, Baba expressed her gratitude to the members of her ward as she reminisced on their activities together.
“Consequently, after a deep retrospection, re-evaluation, and consultation with key stakeholders in Anchau, Kubau LGA, and Kaduna State, I write to intimate you of my decision to withdraw my membership from the APC with immediate effect.
“As I move on, I remain grateful to you and to all members of the APC, as well as the electorates in the Ward, Kubau Local Government Area, and the State for the support rendered to me as Chairman of the APC Stakeholders, Kubau LGA.
“I recall with a feeling of fulfilment the unprecedented electoral victories the party recorded in previous general elections in the ward and the local government area.
“The historic feat will remain indelible in the history of party politics in the local government area.
“Accept the assurances of my regards at all times.
“I enclose herewith my temporary membership registration card for your necessary action.” She added.
