A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Chief Vincent Ogbulafor has reportedly died in Canada.
NPO Reports learnt that Ogbulafor, most remembered for his boast that the then ruling party would rule Nigeria for 60 years uninterrupted, reportedly died after slumping.
The later Ogbulafor had emerged the National Chairman of the party in 1988, went into election and won the presidential election in 1999.
As at the time of filing this report, there was no official response from the PDP as the party Ogbulafor once led.
Attempts to speak with some of the leaders of the party were unsuccessful.
President Muhammadu Buhari while condoling the family of Ogbulafor, said the former national chairman will be remembered for his role in the nation’s democratic growth.
He commended the zeal of the late Prince of Olokoro in sustaining the unity and progress of the country.
The Senate Chief Whip, Sen. Orji Kalu expressed sadness over the death of former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Vincent Ogbulafor.
Kalu, in a condolence message issued on Saturday in Abuja, commiserated with the government and people of Abia.
He said that the late politician contributed to the growth and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, having served in various capacities in the political space.
The former governor of Abia conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Ogbulafor family and described the deceased as a notable political figure in the country.
