A former Special Adviser on Political Affairs to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola in Osun, Alhaji Debo Badru has died.
Badru, who was also an aide to former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, reportedly died at the Federal Medical Centre Abuja in the afternoon of Tuesday after about a week on admission.
An indigene of Iwo, Badru was also an aide to former Governor Isiaka Adeleke.
The Mayegun Musulumi of Iwoland, a honour he received in 2021, Badru was seen as a political stalwart with links among political gladiators of all divides in Osun.
Information available to the NPO Reports indicate that his remains is to be moved to Iwo, Osun state from Abuja Tuesday ahead of a burial according to Islamic rites at his residence.
The news of his death has sent shockwaves to the political establishments in Osun where he has been a major player in more than two decades.
