Ex-UCH Spokesman, Atinwore Dies at 55




A former Public Relations Officer of the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, Mr. Kunle Atinwore has died.

Atinwore, according to information available to the NPO Reports succumbed to death in the early hours of today at a specialist hospital in Abuja.

The former spokesman of the premier teaching hospital reported died after a failed kidney transplant at the hospital where he had been taken to. He was said to have been battling with the chronic pains of the illness for some years. 

The hospital where he was taken to in Abuja was said to be the best in handling his case before he gave up today.

Atinwore was later promoted as Deputy Director Human Resources of the UCH.

As spokesman of the UCH, Atinwore was more popular among journalists who believed he handled his assignments with great professional  capacity.

Atinwore, who hailed from Iwo, Osun State, attended Baptist Day and Baptist High School for his primary and secondary education. He later studied at the University of Ibadan where he also bagged a Masters Degree in Personnel Management.

As at the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the university teaching hospital.

A source that was contacted by the NPO Reports said he was not competent to speak on the matter asking our correspondent to contact the current spokesperson.

NPO Reports in a telephone conversation with the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of University College Hospital, Ibadan, (UCH), Mr. Toye Akinrinlola confirmed the death of the Ex-UCH Spokesman.

Akinrinlola said: 

"With total submission to the will of God Almighty,i regret,on behalf of the Management of UCH,to announce the death of Mr ATINWORE,Taofeek Adekunle in the early hours of today,15thJanuary,2022.

  May his gentle soul continue to rest in peace while praying that God comfort his family and colleagues.

 Burial arrangement would be announced later."
