Excited members of the All Progressive Congress and loyalists of its presidential candidate Bola Tinubu Thursday evening received him at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.
The APC presidential candidate returned after two weeks in the United Kingdom.
His absence in the country especially as the campaigns were expected to start, had given rise to speculations that the APC candidate was unwell.
But Tinubu had allayed fears of his supporters as he released a video of himself on a physical exercise bike in London.
Earlier,Bashir Ahmad,Aide to President Muhammad Buhari hinted about his return to the country.
In a tweet on Thursday, presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, said Tinubu had returned to Abuja.
He said, “Our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja from London.”
Tinubu had on October 3, 2022, released a video saying that he was strong and healthy while dismissing the rumour that he was dead. He also dismissed claims that he had withdrawn from the presidential race.
In a tweet accompanied by a video showing him working out on a fitness bike, he wrote, “Many have said I have died; others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign. Well… Nope.
“This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy and I am ready to serve Nigerians from Day One.”
In a video cited by NPO Correspondent upon his return,the former Lagos State Governor was welcomed by his running mate,Kashim Shettima, DG of his campaign council,Solomon Lalong and others.
Many of his loyalists were heard shouting “Jagaban” as he made his way out of the airport.
