A video has gone viral claiming that some thugs have set ablaze spare parts shops belonging to Igbo traders in the popular Ladipo spare parts market, Mushin Area of Lagos.
The video shows some shops already consuming many goods with many bystanders watching the scenario.
The video has been circulated widely creating panic in many parts of the country of a possible reprisal attacks.
Part of the claims was that the shops were set ablaze as part of protests against Igbo traders believed to have voted against the All Progressive Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the Saturday election.
The candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, was declared winner of the poll in Lagos state.
FINDINGS:
NPO Reports has found that the claims is not through after painstaking investigations which include calls to traders in the Ladipo Market who said there was nothing like fire at the market.
However, it was found that a detachment of men of the Nigerian Army was drafted to the Ladipo Junction of the market with the men standing vigilant in case of any violence.
VERDICT: The Claim is Found to be FALSE.
