CLAIM
A video has gone viral which showed a one storey building being vandalised by a horde of angry youths including under-aged street urchins.
Many who posted the video on Saturday March 25 claimed that the building belongs to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu.
FACT-CHECKED:
Though, the INEC Chairman hails from Bauchi in the Northern part of Nigeria, there are no significant facts to support the fact that the property belongs to him.
The INEC Chairman himself, through a statement by his media aide, Rotimi Oyekanmi, asked Nigerians to disregard the claims and the video, independent checks by the NPO Reports, showed that while the incident was said to have happened on Saturday March 25, the same video had been posted on a Tiktok account with the handle @Hamisu2123.

In the said post on Tiktok, the vandalised property was presented as one belonging to the Chairman of a local government area in Zamfara state.
VERDICT:
It could not be established that the said property belong to the INEC Chairman and the claim is therefore dimmed to be FALSE.
