Nigerian actor, rapper and songwriter, Folarin Falana, popularly known as “Falz”, has emerged the highest grossing Nollywood lead actor in 2024.
Falz achieved the milestone with his lead appearance in Funke Akindele’s “Everybody Loves Jenifa”.
The lawyer turned entertainer followed the step of Akindele who also emerged as the highest grossing Nollywood female lead actress earlier this week.
Falz’ feat was announced by FilmOne Entertainment, a film distribution company, on Wednesday via its Instagram page, @filmoneng.
Following him is Yoruba Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola, who clinched the second highest grossing lead actor for the films, “Beast of Two Worlds”, “Lakatabu”, “Alakada Bad and Boujee”, and “American Japa”.
Kunle Remi is the third highest grossing lead actor for “Muri & KO” and “Queen Lateefah”.
He fourth spot was claimed by Timini Egbuson for his lead roles in “All’s Fair in Love”, “Ajosepo”, and “Meeting Funmi’s Parents”, while Uzor Arukwe is the fifth for “What About Us”, “Thinline”, and “Criminal and Family Gbese”.
Ayo Makun clinched the sixth position for “The Waiter”, “All’s Fair in Love”, and “3 Working Days”.
Tobi Bakare emerged eighth highest grossing Nollywood lead actor for the film, “Farmer’s Bride”.
Tomiwa Tegbe made the ninth position for “Wives on Strike 3”, and “The Uprising”, while Akah Nnani clinched the 10th position for “A Ghettos Love Story”.
