Embattled former Managing Director of the Nigerian Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, has on Tuesday handed over to his successor, Saidu Mohammed, who resumed office as the Authority’s Chief Executive.
NPO Reported that Mohammed was nominated by President Bola Tinubu to fill the vacant post left by Farouk who had last week resigned amid corrupt and financial mismanagement allegations against.
Farouk had tendered his resignation following demand for probe on his alleged spending of $5 million on school fees of his four children, as disclosed by Nigerian billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote.
Confirming the latest development in a statement on Tuesday, the NMPDRA said that the handover which held in Abuja, underscored its commitment to institutional continuity, accountability, and effective leadership.
It said the ceremony concluded with the symbolic transfer of documents and responsibilities witnessed by the Executive Directors, Senior Management and Staff, signalling a seamless and orderly transition in line with public service rules and corporate best practices.
