As Fayemi, Ambode, Onasanya, Others Unveil Ayorinde’s Book in Lagos

Veteran actress, Taiwo Ajayi-Lycet, on Thursday said politicians and government officials should stop looking at actors as tools when they are seeking elections.
This was just as former Governor of Ekiti State Dr. Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Lagos, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode and Former Managing Director of First Bank Dr. Bisi Onasanya on Thursday unveiled a book written by former Commissioner for Information in Lagos State, Steve Ayorinde, 30: Three Decades of New Nigerian Cinema – A Bystander’s Verdict’.
The actress described Ayorinde’s book as an invocation.
She said the government has not yet woken up to the realization that culture can help in the rebuilding the country.
“This is the medium where we can showcase our identity,” she said
She expressed the optimism that the event would help in the invocation of the new consciousness for the culture.
The book presentation held at the Alliance Française de Lagos / Mike Adenuga Centre, IKoyi, Lagos had in attendance veteran actors and actresses and culture promoters.
Among others present were Mrs. Joke Jacobs, Mr. Jide Kosoko, Kunle Afolayan, entertainment promoters Mike Dada of the All Africa Music Awards, and many others.
