The former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has mourned the passage of ex-world court judge,Bola Ajibola.
Fayemi while expressing his sadness over the demise of the founder of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State described the former Attorney General of the Federation as a legend in many respects, larger than life who’s always eager to mentor younger ones.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Judge Bola Ajibola two days ago. He was a legend in many respects, larger than life, and always eager to mentor younger ones. I had the privilege of knowing and interacting closely with him for over three decades, and being friendly with his children, Segun, Modupe, and Demola,” he said
“When I became Governor, he took a keen interest in our social security benefit scheme for the elderly in Ekiti State and followed its progress closely as Chairman of the Senior Citizens Care Foundation. He was so impressed with our work with the elderly that he honoured me as one of the Ambassadors of the Senior Citizens Care Foundation. The crowning glory of the Foundation’s work for the elderly came when President Buhari signed into law the Senior Citizens Act in 2018, which focuses on the care of the elderly.
“Later in his life, he focused on his university, Crescent University, and transformed its Law faculty into one of the best in the country.”
Fayemi added that, his commitment and contributions to the legal profession and the education sector in Nigeria would always be remembered.
He prayed to God to rest the late Attorney General and grant him Aljanah Firdausi.
