Human rights activist and social media influencer, Isaac Fayose, has written to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in demand for a copy of the asset declaration form of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Fayose had, in the letter of request shared on his Instagram handle on Wednesday, invoked the 2011 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to demand for Wike’s asset declaration form.
As contained in the letter dated 21st of July, 2025 but received by the CCB yesterday, Fayose vowed to pay all necessary and processing fees for the document which he demanded to be provided within seven days of the bureau’s receival of the letter.
While his reason for the request was not stated in the letter, Fayose’s demand for Wike’s asset declaration form tend to have emerged from the Minster’s alleged allocation over 2,000 hectares of land to his son, Joaquin Wike.
As contained in a leaked official document published in an exclusive report by Peoples Gazette, Wike was alleged to have bypassed regulations and diverted public land to a company linked to his son—Joaq Farms and Estates Ltd.
The firm was reportedly registered on October 10, 2024, and immediately began receiving allocations which spanned high-value districts such as Maitama, Asokoro, Guzape, Bwari, and Gaduwa.
The allocations were valued at an estimated $3.6 billion and amount to roughly 40,000 plots.
