The board of First City Monument Bank on Wednesday named its Chief Finance Office, Yemisi Edun we have the acting Managing Director.
Edun, a graduate of Chemistry from the University of Ife, also obtained higher degrees at the University of Liverpool.
She began her career with Akintola Williams Deloitte (member firm of Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu) in 1987, with main focus in Corporate Finance activities. She was also involved in audit of Banks and Other Financial Institutions. She joined FCMB in year 2000 as Divisional Head of Internal Audit and Control.
The board named Edun after the bank's managing director Adam Nuhu opted to go on leave to allow for investigations into allegations of love affairs between him and a former employee Mrs Moyo Thomas.
Both have been at the centre of a paternity scandal after Moyo was accused of telling her estranged husband he was not father of their two children.
Her husband, Tunde Thomas died in December in what was said to be part of the outcome of the shock experienced by the late husband.
There have been outcry for the bank boss to resign to allow unhindered investigations.
In a statement made available to the NPO Reports on Wednesday the management of FCMB clarified further that Edun has not been appointed substantive managing director saying "in line with corporate practice, Mrs. Yemisi Edun is acting as the Managing Director of FCMB in the interim period while Mr. Adam Nuru is on leave."
