The African Democratic Congress’ (ADC) Chairmanship candidate for AMAC Area Council, Moses Paul, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of voters’ intimidation and vote buying at the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council Election.
Moses made the allegation during an interview after the voting exercise on Saturday.
Though admitting to the peaceful conduct of the election, the ADC candidate alleged that the party’s supporters were disenfranchised with agents of the party assaulted.
He also claimed the APC indulged in vote buying across several wards, adding that the video evidence will be released soon.
“The election was relatively peaceful though some of my agents were beaten. In places like Orozo, my people were disenfranchised. They were not allowed to vote in some of the villages.
“I was on ground after I finished voting just to see for myself. This is not hearsay. While I think we are evolving as a people, because we carried out a robust campaign.
“People all over the world practically knew about the election. But the participation is something that is personally worrisome for an election.
“The ruling party were intimidating our people and there was huge vote buying across the different wards.
“We have them on video and we will be releasing all of that. All of that criminality contributed to making the electoral process not as credible as it should be.” Moses said.
The ADC candidate however decried the low voters’ turnout at the poll.
