Nigeria’s Falconets has advanced to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup knockout stage following an emphatic 4-0 victory against Venezuela.
The Falconets booked their spot in the next round of the tournament in Colombia as they avenged their 3-1 defeat to Germany at the final group stage match against Venezuela.
Chris Danjuma-led Falconets started the match on strong foot, taking an early lead as Chiamaka Cristabel Okwuchukwu assisted Omowunmi Bello to score the first goal in the 16th minute.
Okwuchukwu, who scored the team’s lone goal against Germany, doubled Falconets’ lead in 28th minute with an assist from Alani.
Few minutes before the end of halftime, Flourish Chioma Sabastine, who earned Nigeria 1-0 win against South Korea at the group stage opener, scored the third goal of the night, leaving Venezuela trailing 3-0 by halftime.

Falconets continued their dominance in the Second half to keep their qualification hope alive.
Venezuela would, however, succumb to another goal as Joy Igbokwe made it 4-0 for the Falconets at added time.
The victory means Nigeria finished second on goal difference in group D, level on points with Germany.
The Falconets now wait for the conclusion of the group stage to find out their knockout stage opponents.
