FirstBank is set to host the 2026 Nigeria Economic Outlook scheduled for the 6th of January.
The event themed, ‘The Great Calibration: Mastering Resilience in an Era of Asynchronous Growth’ is tipped to equip customers with insights for navigating the economy early in the year.
As quoted in a statement issued on Friday, the bank’s Acting Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Olayinka Ijabiyi, said the annual event sets the tone for prevailing economic realities.
He said the forum would review the economic landscape, present the 2026 outlook, and offer expert perspectives on global and domestic trends affecting Nigeria’s economy.
Ijabiyi said FirstBank remained committed to supporting the growth and development of Nigerian businesses and individuals.
“As we welcome the new year, the Nigeria Economic Outlook 2026 will help stakeholders navigate Nigeria’s economic complexities with clarity and confidence.
“This initiative will enable informed decisions through expert insights, driving transformative progress and helping businesses and individuals thrive in 2026,” Ijabiyi said.
He said notable industry experts would speak at the event and invited the public to participate.

The session will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers including economic analysts and industry leaders.
The keynote address will be delivered by Yemi Kale, Group Chief Economist & Managing Director of Research & Trade Intelligence, Afrexim Bank.
Following the keynote, a high-level panel discussion will feature Olusegun Zaccheaus, Chief Economist, PwC; Francis Anatogu, Chief Executive Transaharan; Professor Bongo Adi, Professor of Economics & Data Analytics, Lagos Business School; and Niyi Yusuf, Managing Partner, Verraki.
Other panelists include Cheta Nwanze, Lead Partner at SBM Intelligence; Osahon Ogieva, Deputy Managing Director, FirstBank Ghana; Ayokunle Ojo, Head, Treasury Sales & Derivatives Marketing, FirstBank; and Laura Fisayo-Kolawole, Head, Equities and Alternative Solutions, First Asset Management.
