Terrorists have on Tuesday released five of the victims of the Kaduna train attacks who have been in custody since the attack that took place on March 28.
It was not clear immediately if any ransoms were paid for their release.
An ally of Sheikh Ahmad Gumi who has been at the centre of negotiation, Tukur Mamu, said those released are Professor Mustapha Umar Imam of the Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, Akibu Lawal, Abubakar Ahmed Rufai Mukthar Shu’aibu and Sidi Aminu Sharif.
The terrorists have released 37 victims leaving with them a total of 35 abducted victims.
No fewer than 8 of the passengers had been killed in the attack.
Last week, a video of the terrorists torturing the remaining victims went viral.
