Development Director for the British High Commission in Nigeria, Cynthia Rowe, has disclosed partnership with Nigeria in assisting flood victims in the Northeastern part of the country.
Expressing her concern over the devasting impact of the flood in a post on her X handle on Thursday, Rowe revealed the United Kingdom’s readiness to provide aids to the affected victims.
“It is terrible to see the devastating impact of flooding in North-East Nigeria which has destroyed local infrastructure, displaced whole communities, taken lives and ruined livelihoods.
“The UK are lending our hands to help – with UK partners now quickly working out how to respond best to those affected” Rowe wrote.
NPO Reports the shocking flood disaster that ravaged Maiduguri earlier this week, throwing residents into worrrying state as several properties were destroyed with loss of lives also recorded.
Meanhwile, efforts by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) had seen to the rescue of some victims of the flood.
Also, the Federal Government made provision for relef items for the victims.
