Nigerian food manufacturing giant, BUA Foods Plc has partnered with an Italian pasta equipment manufacturing company, FAVA, in an effort to boost pasta production capacity by 400,000MTpa.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to the statement made available to NPO Reports, the partnership is in line with BUA’s commitment towards contributing to food security in Nigeria as they set towards enhancing their pasta production facility.
The new project would see BUA Foods pasta production line of long cut pasta increase by nine which would boost the company’s annual production capacity from 400,000Tonnes to 900,000MTpa.
In the same vein, BUA also signed agreement with another Italian packaging equipment manufacturing firm, Martini and Turkiye’s Cukurova Silo to increase their storage capacity by 100,000 tonnes.
Reacting to the development, BUA Foods Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, said the partnership will expand their manufacturing capacity and enable them to support the nation amid the ravaging food shortage.
He added that by producing more pasta, the company will be able to meet growing demands for their products as well as the provision of job opportunities.

“The additional 100,000 tonnes of grain storage capacity will enable us to meet the growing demand for our products while strengthening the backbone of our food processing operations by ensuring a reliable and consistent supply of raw materials”.He said.
