Former Nigerian Minister of Education, Jibril Aminu, has died at the age of 85.
The ex-Minister reportedly passed away on Thursday in Abuja after a prolonged illness.
As confirmed by a family source, the late Jibril’s remains is set to be flown to Yola after the funeral prayer.
He will thereafter be taken to Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State for final interment.
Jibril served as Minister of Education and later Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources from 1989 to 1992.
He was also Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States from 1999 to 2003 and served as Senator representing Adamawa Central between 2003 and 2011.
