At least four people have been confirmed dead with 13 injured in a road accident on the Agaie-Lapai Road on Sunday.
The Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) Director-General, Abdullah Baba-Arah, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday in Minna, disclosing that the said the crash involved three trailer trucks.
One of the trucks was transporting cattle and goats.
Baba-Arah confirmed that of the four people who died in the crash, two died instantly and two others later in hospital.
The thirteen injured people were taken to Agaie General Hospital for treatment.
Over 35 cattle were also confirmed dead in the ghastly accident.
The cause of the accident was attributed to dangerous overtaking, leading to a head-on collision.
NSEMA’s Agaie desk officer and volunteers carried out rescue operations.
The Director-General urged motorists to exercise caution and follow traffic rules to avoid similar accidents in the future.
