The family of popular French street artist, Miss Tic, has announced her death.
Tic became famous for her street works which depict various impressions especially of women and struggles.
Tic was arrested briefly in 1997 and was accused of using her works to deface public infrastructure.
She was aged 66 at the time of death late Sunday.
Despite being arrested, her works became sources of interest and attention at exhibitions.
Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul Malak has been quoted to have saluted her “iconic, resolutely feminist” work.
Tic studied Applied Arts and believed she was going to be a poet but fell in love with street arts.
“I had a background in street theatre, and I liked this idea of street art,” she was quoted by AFP.
