An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been accused of slapping a motorist in Osun State.
The officer was said to have broken the windscreen of a vehicle which attracted attention.
NPO Reports could not ascertain what led to the breaking of the windscreen.
However, a man whose voice was heard behind the camera focused his camera on an FRSC officer who was however captured dealing a heavy slap on the man behind the camera.
The slapping saga comes amidst trending issue over the action of a singer Seun Kuti, who slapped a policeman in Lagos last Saturday.
He was arraigned in court in Lagos on Tuesday.
Reacting to the development, FRSC, through its Head of Public Education Bisi Kazeem, the corps doesn’t condone indiscipline among its operatives.
“The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali Biu has directed the immediate recall of the patrol team that was captured on camera behaving in a manner, tantamount to incivility against a member of the public within Egbeda Unit Command general operational area.
“The provocative act as captured on camera is a complete contravention of the Federal Road Safety Corps’ standard operating procedures for officers on patrol operations.” The corps said
Kazeem said the FRsC boss has ordered a “full and comprehensive investigation into the entire circumstances that propelled the officer into the uncivil act and make necessary recommendations for swift administrative action.”
