Governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara on Monday said he has committed no offence to cause any form of impeachment from the state lawmakers.
Fubara, who was speaking shortly after inspecting the burnt House of Assembly complex, said those behind the political tension in the state and masterminding his impeachment should tell the people of Rivers state what his offence is.
NPO Reported earlier that the House of Assembly was burnt Sunday night by hoodlums believed to be loyal to some political gladiators. ““Let them come out and tell Rivers people the offence I have committed to warrant any impeachment.

“Let me assure the people of Rivers that I will continue to ensure that you get the dividends of democracy. At the appropriate time I will address the press,” he said.
The governor, in response and in a move to stave off the impeachment plot, sacked the Chief of Staff, while he also suspended the Chief Judge of the state, Chibuzor Amadi.
The crisis engulfing the state is believed to be the peak of the disagreement between the Governor and the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike. Wike had ensured the election of Fubara this year in an exercise that was largely disputed. There are allegations that Wike has not yet allowed for independent handling of state affairs by Fubara.
It was gathered that plans had been concluded by the camp of Wike to ensure the impeachment of the Governor by members of the House loyal to him.
