Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has felicitated with workers in the state in celebration of Workers Day.
This is coming few hours after the state Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas (Rtd) also commiserated with workers across the state over the May Day celebration.
Fubara had in a post on his X handle on Thursday extended his greetings to the workers while urging them to stand for truth peace and progress.
The suspended governor also assured the workers of building a brighter future with them.
“Happy Workers Day and happy New Month ahead, my dear Rivers people.
“This month of May, let’s keep standing purposely for truth, peace and progress.
“Together, we’re building a brighter future for our beloved state.” He wrote.
Recall that the governor was slammed six-month suspension alongside his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers Assembly following President Bola Tinubu’s state of emergency declaration on the 18th of March, 2025.
In his stead, Tinubu had appointed Ibas as the Sole Administrator of the state while Fubara’s suspension lasts.
The governor’s suspension and state of emergency declaration was pegged against the political unrest in the state.
