Former Rivers State Head of Service, George Nwaeke, has reaffirmed his allegations against the suspended governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara.
NPO Reported that Nwaeke had in a press conference held on Thursday made shocking revelations of how Fubara allegedly orchestrated that demolition of the Rivers Assembly Complex through his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.
The ex-HOS alleged that the suspended governor had directed Ehie to burn down the Assembly complex in a way to avert his impeachment.
Nwaeke also disclosed Fubara’s alleged sinister plans to destroy oil facilities and other national properties across the state in order to force President Bola Tinubu out of power and usher in a new President that will be determined by the Ijaw people.
These were amongst other allegations made by Nwaeke on Thursday.
Readdressing the Press on Saturday, Nwaeke reiterated his claims, stressing that Fubara and his cohorts have invested a lot in destroying Rivers state.
Prior to that, the former Head of Service dismissed being kidnapped as earlier claimed by his wife.
He also debunked discussing the state’s affairs with her while apologizing for the misinformation.
“My wife cannot speak for me on civil service matters when I’m still healthy and mentally very fit. Let me say again, I was not kidnapped.” He said.
On Fubara’s reaction to the allegations, Nwaeke expressed surprise that the suspended governor did not deny his alleged involvement in the demolition of the Rivers Assembly.
He, however, urged the Federal Government to set up an investigative team and officially confirm the allegations which he claimed was well known by Port Harcourt residents.
“I was surprised he never debunked my allegation of bringing down the Assembly which was the main subject matter. Rather, he was talking about other issues.
“This is over one year that the Assembly was brought down. Yet, no panel of inquiry was set up and there has not been any reports on that incident from the state government until date- not even Police investigation.
“I call on the Federal Government to set up an independent investigation team. The truth which is known on the lips of every person on the street of Port Harcourt anyway will now be made formal.” Nwaeke stated.
On Fubara’s dismissal of holding private meeting with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Nwaeke admitted that he was never in a meeting with him and Bala.
He, however reiterated his claims that Fubara had expressed willingness to support Bala Mohammed’s Presidential ambition.
“Secondly, he mentioned that how will I be in a meeting with him and Bala Mohammed. Ladies and gentlemen, I never said I was in a meeting with him and Bala.
“Everything I said was what he told me personally one-on-one. My past statement stand as evidence to what I’ve said.” He continued.
Nwaeke, however, noted that he is not politician but a career civil servant who have benefitted a lot from the state government.
He recounted his journey from being a lecturer to his appointment as the Head of Service in 2023.
Meanwhile, Nwaeke maintained that he cannot disclose all his evidences to the media, stressing that some are more sensitive and will rather give them to authorities.
On claims that he has been compromised, the ex-HOS refuted the claims.
“I’ve also learnt people say I have been compromised. If at all I could be compromised, the it should have been for th governor who is my benefactor who actually appointed me as the Head of Service
“I want to tell you here that I have never been compromised while I was in system.
“Why will it be now that I will compromise after leaving the system? Nwaeke asked.
While slamming Channels TV for the interview with his wife, Nwaeke urged Rivers residents to desist from destroying the state for peanuts.
He finally urged President Bola Tinubu and security operatives not to sweep his allegations under carpet.
“Finally to Mr. President and security personnel, please don’t sweep this under carpet. Come and save Rivers state from destruction.
“Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his infertile cohorts have invested much in destroying Rivers State. Let it stop now” He added.
