Traders at the General Paints area of Lagos are counting loses as the remnants of the fire that engulfed the market Tuesday continued to burn.
Though as at Wednesday morning, the fire had been extinguished to a large extent, smokes still continued to come out from the burnt furniture and other goods that were destroyed.
Some of the furniture merchants were seen making attempts to salvage some of the items that were not burn by the inferno as they expressed sadness over their heavy losses.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Service and fire fighters had stormed the location Tuesday evening to quench the fire.
Items lost to the fire include furniture and furniture materials which many of the traders estimated to be worth millions of Naira.
